Our recommendation is based on a decade-long experience with cancerous dogs, cats or horses. The treatment options with dendritic cell vaccines should start with the first vaccination as soon as possible after surgery and tumor diagnosis. About two weeks after the first vaccine, the effect should be studied: the examination should document the general condition, shrinking of rest tumor tissue, area of surgical site and over all quality of life. To enforce the immune reaction of the body, a monthly threefold treatment is recommended. This treatment protocol is usually adequate to reach a lasting immune reaction.

Especially in cases which where treated without tumor tissue („unprimed“), we recommend a revaccination every 6 months. In Equine Sarcoids the healing process should be noted and an addidtional vaccine used, if necessary.

The pet owners may notice after a few months a degradation of the quality of life of their pet. At that time a new vaccine is an interesting treatment option.
